Mr. Melling graduated cum laude from Univ. of Michigan Law School (1966) after obtaining his B.S. from the Univ. of Colorado (1963). He is admitted to the Utah State Bar. He has been a member of the firm since 1966, and a past president. Mr. Melling specializes in real estate, general corporate legal work and estate planning. He was the recipient of the Distinguished Real Property Practitioner of the Year award in 1999 from the Real Property Section of the Utah State Bar. He has also served as a member (1977-1980) and chairman (1978-1980) of the Salt Lake County Planning Commission. Mr. Melling has for many years served as general counsel to several Utah companies, and has been involved as counsel in the rehabilitation and also the redevelopment of several significant properties in Salt Lake City.
