Mr. Robson represents many of Utah’s school districts in all aspects of their operations including employee hiring, discipline and termination, board policies and regulations, procurement, student discipline and First Amendment issues. Mr. Robson also has extensive experience in commercial litigation and in employment law. He has represented several public utilities regarding their long-term coal contracts including contract administration and negotiation as well as the arbitration and litigation of disputes under those contracts. In addition to his coal contract experience, Mr. Robson has represented local and national clients in both state and federal court. He has litigated cases involving misrepresentation, professional negligence, tort liability, and collections. He has also spent considerable time representing clients in the area of construction law. He has represented owners, general contractors and subcontractors on various construction matters including defective design, defective construction, change orders, lien amount and priority, and defective materials. Before joining Fabian and Clendenin, Mr. Robson clerked for Judge Monroe G. McKay of the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals. He is also licensed to practice in Nevada (1993). He was admitted to the Utah State Bar in 1983, and was the Education Law Section Chair from 1990-1991 and 2000-2002. He is a member of the National School Board Association Council of School Attorneys. He received his Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Utah College of Law in 1983, where he was Order of the Coif, on the Utah Law Review as a Staff Member (1981-1983), was a Marriner S. Eccles Graduate Fellow (1982-1983), on the American Inns of Court II, and a member of the University Athletic Board (1980-1982). He received his Bachelor of Arts in Finance with an Emphasis in Real Estate from the University of Utah, magna cum laude, Phi Kappa Phi, and Beta Gamma Sigma in 1980.
