Phil is an associate in the litigation and employment departments, focusing on nationwide class actions and complex litigation. His experience includes product liability and consumer claims litigation, intellectual property (copyright, trademark, and trade secrets) litigation, and business litigation.
Phil has served as defense counsel in several “bet the company” class actions. In addition, he has served as class counsel in multiple class actions, including two cases in Nevada involving failed condominium projects, several wage and hour cases in California, and several consumer class actions in California. Having represented both plaintiffs and defendants in this type of high-stakes litigation, Phil has a unique perspective which gives him insight in representing his clients and furthering their interests.
In addition to this class action experience, Phil litigates a number of business litigation cases. These include contractual disputes, unfair competition claims, and trade libel claims.
Phil is a 2001 graduate of the University of Michigan School of Law and 1997 graduate of Calvin College. He is admitted to the State Bars of Utah and California and is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Courts of Utah and the Southern, Northern, and Central Districts of California.
