Fabian's Recruiting Efforts
At Fabian, we hire only the most successful candidates. We’re interested in recent graduates from leading law schools who demonstrate superlative skills, and practicing attorneys with proven track records who will complement our firm.
Summer Associates
Our summer associates program is one of the best, capitalizing on opportunities for summer associates to attend trials, hearings, depositions, and closings of complex transactions. We involve them in major cases and, when appropriate, in client interaction. Our summer associates work directly with as many shareholders as possible, including the most senior, experienced attorneys, and they are exposed to various practice areas.
The attorneys who act as summer associate coordinators manage the workload and ensure that our summer associates receive meaningful assignments, training, feedback and evaluations.
Our summer program is a key source for hiring new attorneys for the firm. We look for intelligent, motivated and well-rounded individuals who can bring an immediate impact and added depth to Fabian. We typically hire two summer associates each year, with the expectation that both will return as full time associates upon graduation — and that both will one day be shareholders.
Although we have no set criteria, we generally prefer candidates with real-world work experience, in the top 25% of their law school class, with proven legal writing skills, and who have, or will have, law review, journal, or moot court experience. Summer associates often include candidates from law schools in Utah — but we also make a concerted effort to hire from outstanding schools throughout the country, as reflected in our firm profile.
Our Culture
Our firm culture is one of flexibility, commitment and mutual loyalty. We want to help our attorneys succeed and develop. We also recognize that attorneys have personal lives outside the firm. This balance in our work keeps our turnover remarkably low. Many of our attorneys have been with the firm for decades.
Our billing expectations are reasonable, even though we also offer highly-competitive salaries and benefits. As a result, our firm attracts and retains the top candidates in the market.
We have an extremely talented group of attorneys with diverse backgrounds. Our workplace is dynamic, vibrant and intellectually stimulating. Our investment in quality people keeps Fabian among the top-tier private law firms in Utah, Nevada, Ohio and Washington D.C. allows us to provide superior legal services to our clients.
Our Recruiting Coordinator
Attorneys and students are invited to send a cover letter and resume to our recruiting coordinator. Students interested in the summer associates program should also send a recent transcript and writing sample.
